Vet

Dr Felicity

I grew up on a farmlet in the Adelaide Hills with a menagerie of animals including donkeys, horses, cows, ducks and even sugar gliders. With a love of animals running in my family and a childhood spent surrounded by animals, it was a natural choice to study veterinary science.

After graduating from Melbourne University, my first vet job was in mixed practice in rural South Australia. Before long, circumstances brought me to Townsville, where I’ve been based ever since. Over the years I’ve worked at various ‘small animal’ vet practices in Townsville, as well as taking a decade-long career deviation to study and work at JCU in epidemiology and human public health.

Here at My Pet Hub, I work across the main areas of companion animal veterinary practice; through the life stages from first vaccinations through pet adolescence and adulthood to the senior years, and across the range of pet healthcare from preventative medicine through sickness to health emergencies. I strive to understand the needs of pets and their people, and to achieve the best outcomes possible.

When I’m not working as a vet, I volunteer with Landcare to plant trees for habitat for native wildlife, and I support and follow several Australian wildlife conservation charities. I enjoy gardening and sewing at home and camping and hiking in nature.
