Dog Handler & Vet Nurse Trainee

Chloe R

I was born in Townsville, and I have lived here my whole life. I have a strong history with animals as ever since I was little, I’ve always had an immense passion towards them, no matter how big or small they may be so it was no surprise that I would one day own and work with so many animals.

Ever since I was offered this opportunity back in 2022, I have loved and still do love meeting all the different types of dogs there are and interacting with every single one of them as no dog is the same. They all have their very own quirks and personalities that make them who they are, and I love that and how they are all different in some type of way and that no dog is the exact same, it makes my job more rewarding and exciting that way.

Having this job has gifted me with so many opportunities, as I have learnt so much about dogs and their behaviours and what makes them the way they are. This all sets me up for the day when I am a qualified veterinarian which is my dream, it always has been as I believe that it is the best way possible for me to help influence the animal world for the better. My favourite part of being a dog handler is being able to have the privilege to say I was part of your dog’s adventure and I enjoy watching them grow every single day.

At home, I currently own 4 cats who are known as Emi, Fury, Leo, and Macy, and my blue merle border collie, Blitzen who absolutely loves coming to work with me.
